About Samuel Gregory

Renowned Criminal Defense Lawyer
Samuel Gregory is an experienced, renowned criminal defense attorney handling serious state and federal cases throughout all five boroughs of New York City.
Sam’s Criminal Law Background
Sam began his career in 1984 as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society. As a public defender, he handled cases of every kind, litigating more than 30 cases to verdict and earning an 85 percent acquittal rate. During this time, he also pioneered specific cross-examination methods — ones which are utilized by other criminal defense lawyers today.
Just three years later, this remarkable success earned Sam the honor of becoming the youngest attorney promoted to the Major Offense Bureau. There he handled the most serious criminal cases in Brooklyn, specially selected because each defendant was facing a life sentence.
In 1991, Sam began practicing with a private firm in Brooklyn, handling a number of demanding and high-profile cases. He was amongst the first lawyers in New York State to handle death penalty cases. Sam gained the first acquittal in a murder in the first degree case after the reenactment of the death penalty in Staten Island in 1997.
Over 35 Years Of Experience: International Drug Charges To Civil Rights Cases
Several years later, Sam opened his own practice, the Law Offices of Samuel Gregory, P.C. he practices today. He utilizes skills gained throughout the years to defend individuals facing a wide range of serious criminal charges involving drugs, fraud, embezzlement and white collar offenses. He also handles civil rights litigation for individuals subjected to police brutality or misconduct.
Whatever the case, he is known as an extremely effective lawyer who never quits until he gets results.
