Two men were stopped by authorities on Interstate 84 in New York state at about 11 p.m on April 8. Upon making contact with the driver of the Ford Fusion, officers smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. This resulted in a search of the Fusion, which turned up marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy in the possession of the passenger. The passenger was also found to be in possession of syringes and cannabis oil.
A former employee of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is on trial in Manhattan for allegedly engaging in insider trading. After leaving public service, the man subsequently consulted for hedge funds.
New York police took a driver into custody after an accident that took place in Harrison on April 7. Troopers were sent to the scene of the crash on Interstate 684 at about 5:30 that morning. An investigation determined that the driver had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. However, there were no details given as to what caused investigators to come to that conclusion.
