Sam began his career in 1984 as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society. As a public defender, he handled cases of every kind, litigating more than thirty cases to verdict and earning an 85% acquittal rate. Just three years later, this remarkable success earned Sam the honor of becoming the youngest attorney promoted to the Major Offense Bureau. There he handled the most serious criminal cases in Brooklyn, specially selected because each defendant was facing a life sentence.

In 1991, Sam entered private practice with the firm of Lazarro and Gregory, P.C. After several successful years there, handling a number of demanding and high-profile cases, Sam recently opened his own practice, the Law Offices of Samuel Gregory. His new office concentrates less on quantity of cases and more on complex civil and criminal work, with plenty of time for personal attention to every client. Sam is skilled at handling civil rights litigation, white-collar issues, major personal injury cases, and a breadth of criminal matters. Whatever the case, he is known as an extremely effective lawyer who never quits until he gets results.

Sam's passion for the law has also brought him to St. John's University, where he regularly teaches as a Trial Advocacy professor. Sam is regularly invited to lecture at the Brooklyn Bar Association, the Kings County District Attorney's Office, Brooklyn Law School, and New York Law School, and has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, and Court TV as a legal analyst. He invites you to come in for a free consultation to discuss how he can put that passion to work for you.

In his free time Sam directs and organizes an Alaskan wilderness adventure for young men from Brooklyn N.Y. This year Sam brought eight youths from ages 16 through 19 to the Wrangell St. Elias National Park for ten days of glacier climbing, rafting and wilderness training.  This adventure was financed through private funds raised from prosecutors, defense lawyers and judges.  The group departed from Kennedy Airport on July 7th and returned on July 17th.
